Our Approach to Coaching, Consulting & Advocacy
Coaching
Nearly everyone has had a coach that made a huge impact in their lives by helping them to become better than before they met. It may have been a fitness coach, a soccer coach or a debate coach. Our philosophy on coaching is the same - We believe that everyone is worthy of love & respect and deserves the opportunity to live their best, authentic life. We combine that approach with science backed tools to provide coaching that changes lives.
Consulting
Maybe you are considering a career change and don’t know what you want to do next. Maybe you have some difficult decisions to make at work and feel stuck making them alone. It could be that your not sure of how to approach a difficult conversation with a loved one. Coaching and consulting are different approaches. Consulting generally focuses on providing objective feedback and input on the process.
Advocacy
Our approach to advocacy is based around helping you realize the inherent value you possess and to help you unlock the tools and skills to advocate for yourself in a way that aligns with your values.

FAQs
What is the difference between coaching and therapy ?
Coaching and therapy provide very distinct functions but share some very important guiding principles. Coaching is focused on improving specific skills and developing tools to overcome a specific challenge or obstacle. I like to think of coaching as your own personal advocate to guide you towards solving a specific problem. Therapy is typically treatment focused and is the best approach to working through mental health challenges. Where coaching focuses on a specific obstacle to overcome, therapy focuses on overall well being and the impact of mental heatlh in their overall life. Despite these differences, coaching and therapy both folow the American Psychological Association Code of Ethics.
What guidelines exist in coaching ?
A reputable life coach adheres to the APA Code of Ethics as updated by the American Psychological Assocation. In general, the 5 guidelines are:
Do good & avoid harm
Uphold professional standards & build trust
Be honest, truthful & accurate
Ensure fairness & equality
Respect for a person’s rights & dignity
Is coaching worth it ?
Working with a coach is an investment in yourself and like any investment, you get out what you put in. A coach can provide guidance in best practices, help you understand what might be holding you back, give insight into your blind spots and offer suggestions for new approaches but the success ultimately comes down to you. We believe that if you want to change for the better, you have to want it and own it. Our job is to help you identify what you want and then help you own it.
What if coaching isn’t what I need but still want help ?
We want you to feel confident that we will help you find the resources to meet your current needs. If that is not coaching, we can connect you with therapists, counesolors and other professionals who can help. Our goal is to help you be the best version of yourself, whatever that path may be.
